PBSI gets extended aid
JAKARTA (JP): The Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) on
Thursday received an extended sponsorship commitment for its
national championships for the next three years.
The deal, signed by PBSI chairman Surjadi and President
Director of PT BAT Indonesia JG Priem, renewed the previous
three-year-term contract signed in 1991, the first time the
tobacco company sponsored the annual championships.
PBSI will hold the 1994 edition of the event in December in
Denpasar, Bali, which will coincide with its annual plenary
meeting. All Indonesia's top shuttlers are expected to join the
season-ending tournament.
Alan Budikusuma and Susi Susanti resumed their Olympic Games
golden run by taking the men's singles and women's singles titles
respectively last year in Palembang, South Sumatra. (amd)
