The 2004 general elections may be delayed. This statement is
not designed to provoke, but it is a fact that until now the
verification of political parties has not been completed.

Some 50 parties have passed the verification process held by
the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. They then registered
with the General Elections Commission (KPU) to see if they have
met the requirements to contest the election.

However, some of them apparently have yet to meet the
requirements. The issue must thus be settled soon so that the
