Party supporters hitch rides

BANDARLAMPUNG, Lampung: Hundreds of participants in the peaceful rally of political parties here found themselves without transportation at the end of the day and had to hitch a ride from passing motorists.

Antara said that the participants were picked up by trucks and various other vehicles at their neighborhoods for the rally. They were later left behind at sites far from home or at public transportation terminals.

"It's a good thing the truck drivers were willing to take us to the terminals," said one participant. "That's okay, it's exercise for us." (swe)
