Party boss embarrasses himself

BANYUMAS, Central Java: Provincial United Development Party (PPP) chief Karmani was embarrassed to learn he was unrecognized by the party faithful yesterday.

During his trip to the town, Karmani, famous for his outspokenness, approached a group of teenagers who were buying green party T-shirts on a roadside.

When Karmani asked the would-be first-time voters who was the Central Java party chief, one replied, "I don't care who he is but we are fanatic PPP supporters."

"The problem is I am not good at getting into the mass media," he told The Jakarta Post. (har/pan)
