Partnership clarifies

Your article entitled Jakartans suffer from discriminating public service, ... (The Jakarta Post, May 30, page 2) mentioned a report made by the Indonesian Institute for Civil Society (INCIS) on racial discrimination and cronyism in public services. The article then said "The survey made in cooperation with the European Union and the international Partnership Foundation..."

Please be advised that the accurate name is Partnership for Governance Reform in Indonesia (Partnership).

We would like to inform you that our organization is a legal entity registered as a Civil Law Partnership (Persekutuan Perdata).

Partnership promotes governance reform in the country in terms of anticorruption, decentralization and regional autonomy, legal and judicial reform, security and police reform, civil service reform, and representation reform. Partnership is not a foundation. However, it is true that Partnership worked in cooperation with the European Union in developing the program for INCIS.

The program with INCIS is still going on. We will be glad to inform you of further developments in this program.

HALIM MAHFUDZ Senior Communications & Knowledge Manager Partnership Jakarta
