Paris Club meeting set for April
JAKARTA: The Paris Club meeting, where the Indonesian government seeks to reschedule the payment of its debts maturing this year and next, is slated to run from April 8 to April 12, Minister of Finance Boediono said.
"The schedule is set for between April 8 to April 12. From what I've heard, it should be finished by April 11, since the meeting usually takes one or two days," Boediono said on Monday.
It will be the third meeting that Indonesia has sought to reschedule its massive debt owed to the Paris Club of creditor nations.
Officials said during the meeting that Indonesia would seek to reschedule payment of its debt principal and interest due this year and next, which amounts to Rp 27 trillion (US$2.7 billion)
Of its total debt of some $130 billion, Indonesia owes $70 billion to foreign creditors. -- JP
