Parents report rape of toddler daughter

JAKARTA (JP): Parents reported to Cakung Police on Friday that their four-year-old daughter had been raped by neighbors.

The father, Teguh, a vegetable vendor at Klender market in East Jakarta, reported the case following his daughter's admission that she had been sexually harassed by two young male neighbors the day before.

"Police have arrested the two suspects," Teguh told reporters while taking his daughter for an examination at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital.

He said the two suspects, identified as Rudi, 16, a first year high school student, and Suri, 13, were neighbors of the family in Jatinegara subdistrict, East Jakarta.

The young girl told journalists that the incident took place at Rudi's bedroom on Thursday afternoon. She said she came home and told her parents that the two boys asked her to take off her clothes and then had sexually assaulted her.

"It hurts and I feel pain whenever I want to urinate," she said. (04)
