VIVAnews - PT Panasonic Global Energy Indonesia will invest US$100 million to improve the factory's capacity this year.

According to Chief Commissioner of Panasonic Gobel Indonesia, Rachmat Gobel, the fund will be used to expand with refrigerator, television, battery, and washing machine factories.

"For the time being the factories are being built," he said on Monday, May 24.

Gobel said the factory development will go in phases. It is expected that the battery factory in Cibitung, Bekasi, can be completed in October of this year.

Meanwhile, the expansion of three other factories in Cibubur is targeted to reach its final stage by this year and next year.

"Given the increase in production capacity, exports may likely hit US$300-400 million within the next four years," said Gobel.

As for the performance in 2010, Gobel targeted that the sales may rise up until 30 percent compared to 2009.
