PAN to cover costs of depressed members

BATAM, Riau: The Batam branch of the National Mandate Party (PAN) plans to pay for the medical costs of the party's losing legislative candidates, PAN official Yudi Kurnain said on Saturday.

Ten PAN candidates failed to win seats in the Batam Legislative Council in the April 5 election. The losing candidates have been treated at a Batam hospital for severe depression for the past three months. -- JP
