PAN supporters injured in rally

PURWOKERTO, Central Java: Fourteen supporters of the National Mandate Party (PAN) were injured, with four of them suffering from broken limbs, in an accident during a convoy rally marking their last day of campaigning here.

The accident took place on Jl. Cilongok Raya in Cilongok village, where hundreds of vehicles jammed the street. As two trucks full of supporters passed going in different directions, with supporters yelling greetings to each other, the side wall of one truck collapsed and the crowd tumbled down upon one another.

The supporters are residents of Krazan and Penusupan villages. The 14 injured supporters are being treated at Margono Sukarjo Hospital. (45)
