Palyja responds

In response to the letter published in The Jakarta Post on
Nov. 5 titled Quality of drinking water declines, we would like
to explain as follows.

On Oct. 31, the Palyja Service Unit Team in South Jakarta
checked the customer's location and found the water was rather
murky. The quality of water returned to normal (clean) after our
team conducted a flushing operation. In the near future the
company will do a wash-out in order to maintain the cleanliness
of the water.

As regards to the rate increase, we can explain that the
Jakarta governor, through decree No. 1401/2005, introduced
automatic rate adjustment twice in 2005, which were effective as
of the delivery of the March and September bills.

Last, we apologize for the inconvenience caused and we are
committed to improving our services to our customers.

RATNA INDRAYANI, Public Relations Manager, Palyja, Jakarta
