Palu reverend released on bail
PALU, Central Sulawesi: Reverend Rinaldi Damanik, 45, who was convicted for the possession of dozens of homemade rifles and sentenced to three years' imprisonment was released on bail from a Palu prison on Tuesday for good conduct. His release was based on the Minister of Justice and Human Rights' Sept. 21 decision.
Had Damanik not been released on bail, he would have completed his sentence in May of next year. Rinaldi, who also chairs the Central Sulawesi Christian Church Synod, was earlier accused of involvement in a riot in Poso in 2000. -- detik.com
