Palembang budgets for water demand

PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: The city administration here has allocated Rp 5.16 billion from its local budget to meet the expected high demand for clean water.

The deputy of the Palembang administration, Aidit Aziz, said on Tuesday that the supply of clean water for the city's residents was one of the top priorities of the administration.

The money will be used to fund various projects to build various water infrastructures.

The budget is aimed at raising the clean water supply by 1,200 liters per second to reach 3,000 liters per second for the 485,352 people residing in the city, Aidit told Antara.(02)
