PAL, Nuovo, Total in deal

JAKARTA (JP): State shipbuilder PT PAL Indonesia, in
cooperation with GE Nuovo Pignone, part of General Electric Power
Systems division, has won a contract to supply compression
modules to oil and gas producer Total Indonesie.

Under the turnkey contract signed recently, the two companies
will design, engineer, build, fabricate, package, make full-load
tests and deliver to site two compression modules to be installed
on a new Total Indonesie platform at Tunu Field in the Mahakam
contract area of East Kalimantan.

According to Nuovo, the modules are scheduled to shipped
before the end of June 2000 and the station is slated to begin
commercial operation by December 2000. (gis)
