Paintings on display in Kemang

JAKARTA (JP): The Santi Gallery on Jl. Benda No. 4, Kemang, South Jakarta, will be displaying works by Kay It, a Balinese painter who died 18 years ago.

The exhibition, scheduled to be opened by well-known collector Dr. Oei Hong Djien, will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily from Oct. 24 to Nov. 7

Some of the 40 paintings to be displayed remain in the care of Kay It's wife and are for sale.

The exhibition will coincide with the launching of a book on Kay It titled Whimsical World of a Modern Balinese Artist.

Kay It, who was born in Tabanan, Bali in 1938, had held solo exhibitions in Australia. (sur)
