Overcharging on subscription fee
I have subscribed to The Jakarta Post since August 1997 through a local agent with an understanding that the agent normally adds a small amount to the official subscription fee.
However, I was quite surprised to see my August bill for Rp 25,000, which was Rp 7,000 more than the actual price (an increase of almost 40 percent).
I do not know how you normally deal with these agencies, but this kind of practice will certainly discourage people from subscribing to your paper.
I hope you can take this information into account for your future marketing strategy.

Note: Your local agency "Komiko Jaya Agency" is, unfortunately, not an official agency but a sub-agency which we have no knowledge of. We would like to advise you (or any other prospective subscribers) to contact the Circulation Department of The Jakarta Post (phone 260-1777 or fax 260-1112; 260-1717), and we will register you with an official agencies/sub-agencies in your area.
