Over 3,000 teachers needed

SEMARANG: More than 3,000 junior and senior high school
teachers will be needed in Central Java next year to make the
government's nine-year compulsory education program a success, an
official here said Saturday.

Haryanto, spokesman for the Ministry of Education and Culture
office in Semarang, told Antara the office would start recruiting
as many as 3,080 teaching institute graduates next Thursday at
the ministry's office here.

Haryanto said the office would also recruit 204 others for the
posts of office administrators, clerks and technicians.

He said the new civil servants would be recruited using
computerized means and could be examined from the ministry's main
office in Jakarta. (aan)
