Over 10,000 houses to be built in Nias

BANDA ACEH, Aceh: At least 10,041 houses are to be built this year in the tsunami ravaged Nias Islands, official data shows.

According to data from the Aceh and Nias Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Body (BRR), the building was supported by foreign donors, including the Canadian Red Cross, Red Cross Consortium from Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain, World Relief, French Red Cross.

Domestic donors contributing to the construction program were Medan Peduli (Medan care) and the BRR.

Meanwhile, in Aceh, the German government will help build 164 units of houses in the near future for tsunami victims. The houses will be part of some total 10,000 houses to be built in the area by Germany. -- Antara
