Outline of PPD's platform

Various violations and weaknesses in the past have caused the nation to have little dignity before the international community; this should bring about a new awareness in each citizen of the unitary republic to strengthen their nationalism based on freedom and liberty, based on morality and religion.

To overcome weaknesses, particularly in the regions, the law on regional autonomy is a strong foundation for the development of all spheres.

Therefore strengthening of all human, natural and cultural resources is needed, not only for national interests but also for regional interests.

The United Regional Party thus strives for a people-oriented democracy (kerakyatan), public welfare and security.

Kerakyatan would encourage the participation of people from the regions in line with the spirit of the constitution, "rules of the game" and civil and political ethics.

Such ethics would comprise of clean governance, and the development of a political atmosphere, which was open and sensitive to aspirations from the regions, appreciative of differences, honest in competition, open to truthful opinions and showed a high respect for human rights.

The party's mission thus includes the following: - national reconciliation to enable all programs of: o economic recovery, o improved education, o improved health, o sustainable development

- with an emphasis on regional interests in the economy, education and health.
