Operation launched to prevent dengue

JAKARTA: The Central Jakarta Health Office is mounting an operation to prevent the possible outbreak of dengue fever.

"We will include the eradication of the mosquito larva usually found in water or waste containers," office contagious diseases head Endang was quoted as saying by city-owned online news provider www.beritajakarta.com on Thursday.

"Among the other activities is to highlight the importance to close, empty and bury all used containers which can be used as breeding grounds for mosquitoes," she added.

The activities would start in early November.
