One more student dies after blast

JAKARTA: Another student of SMUN 47 state high school in Tanah
Kusir, South Jakarta, died on Sunday of his wounds caused by the
explosion of a helium cylinder that was used to inflate balloons
to decorate the school on its 20th anniversary the previous day.

Budi Wiyono died at Pertamina Hospital, South Jakarta, where
he was being treated. His schoolmate, Alvin Taher, was still in
the hospital.

The explosion had earlier killed Irfan Satria, one of a pair
of twins who died instantly in front of the school at about 7
a.m. on Saturday.

The balloon vendor, Sarno, was detained by the police over the
incident. He had inflated 75 balloons and had handed them to the
anniversary committee when he realized that the tank was
overheating. He fetched water to pour over it, but it exploded
before he returned. --JP
