One drowned, one missing at beach

BENGKULU, Bengkulu: Three people were carried away by the
current when they swam at Panjang Bengkulu tourist beach here
Wednesday morning.

One was found dead, another is still missing, while the last
was rescued, Antara reported yesterday.

Nineteen-year-old Shinta was unconscious when found by
rescuers and died later at the nearest hospital. Yuni Yumari,
also 19, recovered after a brief hospital stay. But Yamaan alias
Aan, 21, has yet to be found and is believed drowned.

Yuni said the three went to bathe because the weather was fine
that morning. As they were swimming, strong currents suddenly
dragged them out, she said. (swe)
