MAKASSAR, South Sulawesi: A gasoline-vending kiosk in Makassar exploded on Wednesday morning, killing one person and injuring two others.

The accident was believed to have been caused by a motorist buying gasoline, who threw away a lit cigarette near the kiosk, a witness said.

Mutiara Daeng Ti'no, 65, who was inside the kiosk was trapped and burned to death, while her husband, Daeng Rasyid, and grandson Hendra were injured after trying in vain to save her.
