On Visa Electron

We refer to the letter by Adrianus Hiyung Tjung published in The Jakarta Post dated Feb. 9, 2000.

We appreciate his valuable input to our new product, Lippobank Visa Electron. In response to his inquiries, we would like to provide the following information; Lippobank charges no fees i.e. monthly administration fees -- to the customer. This means that if a Lippobank Visa Electron cardholder uses the card on Lippobank's ATM Network, no fees will be applied for the transaction. But if a cardholder uses Lippobank Visa Electron card on other networks such as another national private bank's ATM, which is a member of ALTO, there will be a charge per transaction. This fee is for using third party facilities and the fee rate is applied to all member banks.

Fee per transaction using ALTO's ATMs is Rp 1,250 for balance inquiry and Rp 2,600 for cash withdrawal. The same pattern of fees is applied by VISA when using Visa/Plus ATMs. The charge is in U.S. dollars and translated into IDR. Transactions using Visa/Plus ATM in Indonesia, such as when using Citibank's ATMs will be charged the same fee as transactions using Visa/Plus ATM outside Indonesia.

For usage outside Indonesia, Lippobank's exchange rate is based on Visa's exchange rate with 0 percent mark up. Retail transactions using Lippobank Visa Electron is free of charge. Other than the above, Lippobank charges a "fall below" fee which is charged under the following conditions:

* Tahapan account with an average balance below Rp 100,000 and non-active (no transaction) accounts for six months will be charged Rp 1,000 a month.

* Lippo Saving with an average balance below Rp 100,000 is charged with a Rp 2,500 monthly fee.

* Both Tahapan and Lippo Saving are saving accounts available for connection to Lippobank Visa Electron.
