On urban problems

I am writing in response to Sumarsono Sastrowardoyo's letter of Oct. 14, which was a reply to my letter published on Oct. 10.

I do have a genuine interest in the problems of this city because I'm living here. However I do not have hundreds of years of experience in urban problems.

He goes on to say that he was disappointed with my letter because I don't know anything about either the causes or the solution to student brawls. Perhaps if The Jakarta Post had not heavily edited my letter he would not have been disappointed.
