On the record: Take Off Your Pants and Jacket

Album: Take Off Your Pants and Jacket; Universal Music; Artist: Blink 182

Eminem and Blink 182 have something in common; they hate teen pop. But while Eminem expresses his feelings rather harshly in hard-core rap, the latter uses humor.

Remember the video for All The Small Things from the band's last album, The Mark, Tom and Travis Show (The Enema Strikes Back)?

It is packed with hilarious scenes of the band parodying videos from Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys and many others.

That's what the punk band and their new album are all about. Comical, yet their three-chord music kicks out some fresh and fast tunes that will get you going.

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is the fifth album from Mark Hoppus (bass/vocals), Tom Delonge (guitar/vocals) and Travis Barker (drums).

Funny thing is, Blink is singing the same kind of lines usually heard from boy bands. "I pick you up on a first ... let's make it forever and ever," they sing on First Date.

But instead of cheesy and obnoxious it sounds funny coming from them, and you will find yourself jumping and pogoing to the tunes, from the beginning of the album to the end.(Hera Diani)
