On the 'Asian Way'

In your paper's Jan. 20 edition I came across an article which
was titled: Singapore gives help to Acehnese in 'Asian way'." I
immediately started reading it because I was really curious about
the "Asian way" of alleviating human misery.

Well, this appeared to boil down to the following: "Despite
the humid and sunny weather of the coastal area, none of the
soldiers wear sunglasses (...) as they find it rude and un-
Asian." Not a single trace of anything else "the Asian way" in
the rest of the article.

I will throw away my sunglasses so I can spend the rest of my
life doing things "the Asian Way".
