On squaring the circle

I realize that by the time I sent The Jakarta Post the revised version of my article entitled On unemployment: Squaring the circle II (the Post, Dec. 4, page 7) it was not possible to accommodate the changes.

Since it could be confusing and misleading, I feel that the mistakes should be clarified/corrected.

Here's the correction to Paragraph 2 of the article: "Open unemployment, defined as ..." should read as follows: "Open unemployment, defined as consisting of those who are currently not working and are actively seeking a job, is in fact rather small."

Para 4: "The relative numbers of ..." should read as follows: "The relative numbers of open and disguised unemployment (those working under 35 hours a week) illustrate the dimensions of the problem."

I apologize for the mistakes and the inconvenience caused.
