On Palestinian rocket attacks

No state in the world would put up with its cities and international airport being under the threat of direct attack. The firing of the rockets could lead to Israel's reoccupying ... Palestinian territory to push the threat away from its cities.

If the Palestinian leadership really wants to restore dialog, as implied in Yasser Arafat's article in the New York Times, it must restrain the armed elements in the areas under its control and prevent the rocket attacks, which can lead only to mutual bloodletting and more hostility, and will make the chance for a peaceful solution even more remote.
