On noise pollution

The house in which we live is part of a complex that surrounds the old Pertamina assembly hall, now known as Gedung Wanita Patra.

While I have nothing but good wishes for those who use this facility for weddings, meetings and so forth, I am completely at a loss as to why the operators keep the external public address system functioning throughout the events taking place inside the building, given the proximity of the houses in the surrounding complex.

I really do not want to have exhortations, wedding speeches, and the often painful amateur musical efforts ensuing from what I assume are office "parties" blasted directly into my house.

Perhaps the owner can find a way to separate the external public address system from the internal one.

As many of these events take place at weekends, when my family and I are trying to recharge our batteries for the coming week, injury is added to insult.
