On NATO aggression
I refer to the letter by Mr. Louis G. Payraudeau in The Jakarta Post, April 16, 1999.
I am glad that people read my anti-NATO aggression letters to the Post. I would highlight again what I say in these letters because it seems that Mr. Payraudeau, for one, didn't read them but still wished to write me a letter. I say:
NATO is waging an unprovoked war against Yugoslavia.
Unprovoked war against another sovereign country is a crime.
People who commit crime are criminals.
NATO is responsible for civilian suffering (numerous deaths and refugees and terror it inflicts on general population) as well as huge destruction of property that took generations to build with no excuse at all but blinding propaganda.
NATO started this war to force Yugoslav government to accept a NATO-drawn so-called "Peace Plan", in effect, an ultimatum. This was their own justification for this aggression at the time.
The number of refugees in any of the neighboring countries at the beginning of this aggression was zero.
After a week of bombing and after humanitarian consequences of this criminal aggression became obvious, NATO propagandist started using this tragedy that they created themselves as an excuse to further the aggression. This is when they changed the objective of the aggression from "signing the deal" into "preventing humanitarian catastrophe". In other words NATO is trying to solve a problem that didn't even exist before they started solving it. This is a logical problem. The legal one is that they are using illegal means -- war. The moral one is that they are killing people daily in the process.
Now, Mr. Payraudeau, please take a look at what I say and what you think I say. I cannot find any reference in your acid letter leading back to any of my statements. You are simply using NATO's general purpose anti-Yugoslav and anti-Serb propaganda rhetorics and addressing it to me as your own "answer". Please write another letter, in your own words, with comments on what I have really said.
