Indeed, my World Map, the Oosthoek-Time Wereld Atlas, edition
1973, shows Kota Bonjol located dead on the Equator as Rahmat
Febrianto stated in his letter Map madness (The Jakarta Post,
Sept 27, 2003).

Padang lies far south of it. This sloppiness and inaccuracy of
the maps (indicated) may indeed negatively influence any
sovereignty claims Indonesia intends to forward. Both now and in
the future.
