On jihad

I was amazed at Tita Mustikahati's letter Stick to people's interests of Jan. 17, 2000, on Amien Rais' call for a jihad. She stated that even though she is a Muslim, she is not sure of the real meaning of jihad.

Ms. Mustikahati, as one Muslimah (female Muslim) to another, my advice is please read the Holy Koran and Hadith. Mr. Rais was conveying his da'wah (propagation) as one aspect of his responsibility as a Muslim.
