On Borobudur

I refer to Mr. Budi Santoso's letter of July 3, concerning Borobudur. I have been led to believe that it is not, strictly speaking, a temple because it does not possess an inner chamber. It is, however, undoubtedly one of the "wonders of the world"; whether or not it is one of the "seven wonders" is debatable.

Even in my own native Northern Ireland, many believe the Giants Causeway, a peninsular of octagonally shaped basaltic columns, formed by volcanic action, to be also one of the seven, or at least the eighth.

A recent article I came across on the Internet states that the seven are the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Collossus of Rhodes and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. If indeed Borobudur is one of the seven wonders, the question is, which of the above is the impostor?

Maybe some of our more learned art historians or archeologists can throw light on the situation.
