Ombudsman trainers get course
JAKARTA: The National Ombudsman Commission is carrying out a three-day training course for trainers of ombudsman at Ambhara Hotel in South Jakarta, with the aim of empowering the ombudsman's staff.
The training course, attended by 30 participants representing various organizations including Indonesian Corruption Watch, the National Commission on Human Rights, Police Watch and the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, was opened on Tuesday by chairman of the commission Antonius Sujata.
The training was expected to enable the participants to thoroughly comprehend ombudsmanship through "training by doing" sessions, he said.
The National Ombudsman Commission, established under Presidential Decree No. 44/2000, is in charge of monitoring the government's performance, with the aim of creating good governance. -- JP
