Old mosque gets ready

PEKANBARU, Riau: An old mosque at Air Tiris village in Kampar,
Riau, is being groomed for the upcoming national Koranic recital
competition next month.

Kampar Regent Saleh Jasit at Bangkinang said the mosque was
already polished.

The mosque, built in 1901, was constructed using wood glued
together without using nails. "The mosque is still in good
condition due to thorough maintenance," Saleh said. (11)
