OJK Suspends Public Accountant Danang Rahmat Surono Over DSI Case
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has imposed an administrative sanction on public accountant Danang Rahmat Surono in connection with the alleged online loan fraud case (Pindar) of PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI).
The Executive Head of the Supervisory Division for Financing Institutions, Venture Capital Companies, Microfinance Institutions, and Other Financial Service Institutions (PVML) of OJK, Agusman, stated that the sanction was issued on 2 April 2026.
“OJK has imposed an administrative sanction involving the suspension of registration on public accountant Danang Rahmat Surono related to the audited annual financial statements (LKTA) for 2024 of PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI) because it failed to implement 12 adequate audit standards, thus not complying with Article 21 Paragraph 1 Letter C of POJK No. 9 of 2023,” said Agusman during the RDKB press conference on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
Including the DSI case, throughout April 2026, OJK also imposed administrative sanctions on several financial industry players. The details include 66 financing companies, 11 venture capital companies, and 15 P2P lending providers for violations of POJK and supervision results.
As is known, the DSI peer-to-peer (P2P) lending fintech fraud and fund misappropriation case has come under scrutiny in recent times.
Deputy for Eradication at PPATK, Danang Tri Hartono, revealed that based on financial transaction data from 2021 to 2025, PT DSI managed to collect public funds amounting to Rp7.478 trillion. Of that amount, funds returned to the public in the form of returns were recorded at Rp6.2 trillion.
“Thus, there is a shortfall of funds not yet returned to the public of approximately Rp1.2 trillion,” Danang stated during a meeting with Commission III of the DPR RI in Jakarta on Thursday (15/1/2026).
Danang explained that from that shortfall, around Rp167 billion was used for the company’s operational costs. These costs included electricity, internet, business premises rental, salaries, advertising, and other operational expenses.
In addition, around Rp796 billion was channelled to companies affiliated with DSI. Based on PPATK findings, those companies are still under the control of the same parties in terms of ownership.
Not only that, PPATK also found fund flows of around Rp218 billion transferred to individuals or other entities that are also affiliated. From the transaction patterns, PPATK assesses that the parties benefiting most from the fund flows are the affiliates of those companies.
