'Ojek' driver robbed

JAKARTA: Sarifudin, 30, an motorcycle taxi, or ojek, driver,
was attacked by his passenger, who then stole his motorcycle, on
Sunday at 11 p.m. at the Navy Housing Complex on Jl. Laut
Arafura, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta.

The robber pretended to be a passenger and asked Sarifudin to
take him from Kampung Kemang, Jatiwaringin, Bekasi, to the
housing complex.

When they got to the complex, the robber attacked Sarifudin
with a machete and hit him in the head. Sarifudin fell from his
motorcycle with plate number B 4765 GZ, and when he tried to
stand up, the robber beat him again.

Sarifudin, who suffered minor injuries, reported the incident
to Duren Sawit Police.

Police recovered the machete at the scene of the crime and are
searching for the culprit. -- JP
