Oil seminar to be held in Bali
JAKARTA (JP): Several leading figures in the world's oil and gas industry are expected to participate in a four-day Indonesian International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference 1999 (IIOGE 99) from Sept. 7 and 10 this year in Nusa Dua, Bali.
Chairman of IIOGE's organizing committee Soepraptono Soelaiman said in a statement on Tuesday that secretary-general of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Rilwanu Lukman would make a keynote speech in the conference.
Other keynote speakers who have confirmed participation in the conference include Minister of Mines and Energy Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, State Minister for the Empowerment of State Enterprises Tanri Abeng, and International Finance Corporation's oil, gas and mining director Philippe Lietard.
Soepraptono, who is also director general of oil and gas at the mines and energy ministry, said international investors will learn of, and respond to, the sweeping changes affecting the present and future energy business in Indonesia during the exhibition and seminar.
The seminar will feature between 20 and 30 national and international speakers, he said. (jsk)
