Oil found in East Java
JAKARTA (JP): Santa Fe Energy Resources Ltd. of the United States has discovered oil from its two concession wells, the MUDI-1 and MUDI-1 sidetrack, at the Rahayu village of the Tuban regency in East Java, the state oil company Pertamina says.
A spokesman for Pertamina said here over the weekend that a test on the MUDI-1 well, which has been drilled since last December at a depth of 8,443-8,795 feet, flows 11,364 barrels of crude oil per day, while a test on the MUDI-1 sidetrack at a depth of 8,418-8,800 feet yields oil flows of 2,020 barrels per day.
The interest of the production sharing contract for oil and gas exploration in the Tuban bloc is 50 percent owned by Pertamina, 12.5 percent by Santa Fe Energy Resources Java Ltd. of the United States, 12.5 percent by Total Tuban of France, 12.5 percent by Risyad Salim Resources of Indonesia and 12.5 percent by Enserch Far East Ltd.(yns)
