Officials quizzed in graft case

JAMBI, Jambi: Jambi Police are questioning three high-ranking Merangin regency officials here for their alleged roles in a corruption case. The three officials in question are Ike Surya Kusuma, the chief of the Merangin Development Planning Board; Hendri Dunan, who manages the administration's legal affairs and Silvia Aryanti, who oversees financial matters.

They could face prosecution for alleged embezzlement in the construction of a bus terminal in Langling subdistrict here, which is worth Rp 12.484 billion (US$1.4 million), said Jambi Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Djoko Turrochman. -- JP
