Officials gear up for new duties
The Jakarta administration will see a major reshuffle starting on Tuesday as Governor Sutiyoso is scheduled to install new top administration officials at City Hall. The reshuffle will affect 41 posts in his administration.
"New second and third echelon officials will be installed on Tuesday and the new Central Jakarta mayor on Thursday, the West Jakarta mayor on Friday and the Kepulauan Seribu (Thousand Islands) regent next Monday," said outgoing city spokesman Muhayat, who will be the new Central Jakarta mayor.
Sutiyoso had said earlier that the major reshuffle was commonplace in his administration. "After six months, I will evaluate their performance. I will replace them if they perform poorly."
Besides Muhayat, other outgoing officials are assistant to the city secretary for development affairs IGKG Suena, City Revenue Agency head Deden Supriadi, City Assets Agency head Rama Budi, City Population Agency head Sylviana Murni, City Basic Education Agency head Gito Utomo and Economy Administration Bureau head Sukri Bey.
Suena will be replaced by outgoing assistant to the secretary for economic affairs Hari Sandjojo. Suena, who is due to retire, will preside over city-owned property developer PT Jakarta Propertindo. Hari's post will be filled by outgoing assistant to the secretary for financial affairs Ma'mun Amin. Ma'mun's position will be filled by Deden.
Rama Budi will become the City Youth and Sports Agency head. Sylviana will replace Gito who will go to the City Archives Office, while Sukri will become head of the City Cooperatives and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Agency.
The City Agriculture and Forestry Agency head Peni Susanti will be replaced by Maurits Napitupulu, former head of the City Parks Agency. Peni will take over Setiawan Kanani's post to become the City Mining Agency head, while Kanani will become the new head of the City Culture and Museums Agency to replace the acting head of the agency Rohana Manggala.
The administration will have a new spokesman, Catur Laswanto, to replace Muhayat. -- JP
