Officers told to be easy going

JAKARTA (JP): City Military Commander Maj. Gen. Sutiyoso has
called on non-commissioned officers to be posted in kampongs
across Jakarta to be easygoing and to posses practical knowledge
as well dynamism in the field.

In his speech read by the command's chief of staff Brig. Gen
Bambang Yudhoyono, yesterday Sutiyoso underlined the need for the
officers to have such qualities as it will be helpful in dealing
with residents.

The officers locally called Babinsa are taking a special
course. A total of 179 officers, mostly corporals, are taking in
a special course which takes three months. (bas)
