NZMG forms RI subsidiary

JAKARTA (JP): Dairy products supplier New Zealand Milk Group (NZMG) announced on Friday the establishment of its Indonesian- based wholly owned subsidiary PT New Zealand Milk Indonesia (NZMI). According to NZMG, the subsidiary was established to give the company more direct control over its distribution chain in the country.

"The new company's role will be to act as a nation-wide distributor and marketer for our dairy products in Indonesia," NZMG executive Mark Wynne said.

Wynne said he hoped the subsidiary could help NZMG reach traditional Indonesian markets, as well as major supermarket chains, franchise food outlets and five-star hotels throughout Indonesia.

NZMI will be based in Jakarta, with distributors in Medan, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Bali, in addition to a network of subdistributors in Kalimantan, Riau, Sulawesi and a number of other islands in eastern Indonesia. (udi)
