NTT builds more vocational schools
KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province is building three vocational schools, two of which will be funded by the Japanese government.
The head of the province's education and culture office, Abraham Gampar, told Antara on Wednesday that Japan had allocated Rp 14 billion (US$1.6 million) under the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund to help the province build schools in the East Flores and Mbay regencies.
The province is building the other school, situated in the North Central Timor regency, with funds from the state budget. Construction of the schools is underway and is expected to be completed by the time the new academic year begins in July.
Abraham said all the schools would be equipped with modern facilities, including laboratories.
"We are building the schools to groom skillful workers who will fill middle manager positions in the province," Abraham said.
