Novotel hotel holds contest

JAKARTA (JP): The Bogor-based Novotel hotel will hold a contest for young and educated girls on Sept. 9 to promote Indonesian tourism in France, the hotel official said on Wednesday.

The annual contest will be held simultaneously in all 12 Novotel branches across the country. The 12 winners from each hotel will then be contended in Jakarta on Sept. 24 to grab one ticket to France as Indonesia's "ambassador" in the tourism field.

"The national winner will travel to France as Indonesia's tourism representative and promote the country's tourism," Antonie Sirot told journalists. Similar contest was also held last year, he added.

All candidates for the contest will have to prove their ability to represent themselves and their fluency in speaking English and French. They are also expected to have some knowledge about the Indonesian culture.

Some of the Indonesian entertainers will enliven the competition in Bogor as "it will be an elegant and enchanting event,"Antonie said. (04)
