Not our security personnel

With reference to the reports in The Jakarta Post of Aug. 20,
1998 and Sept. 25, 1998 on the demand aired by a number of
security guards, herewith for and on behalf of and in the legal
interest of PT JAYA READYMIX we deem it necessary to present the
following refutation and response:

1. PT JAYA READYMIX has never hired any security guards as
referred to in the reports in The Jakarta Post.

2. Since 1989 PT JAYA READYMIX has been cooperating with PT
GINDEJAYA PURNASEJATI for the assignment of security guards
within the business environment of PT JAYA READYMIX on the basis
of a cooperation agreement.

3. On the basis of this cooperation agreement, none of these
security guards are employees of PT JAYA READYMIX, but are the
employees of PT GINDEJAYA PURNASEJATI.

4. As an internal conflict in PT GINDEJAYA PURNASEJATI has
affected the supervision and placement of security guards and
also the remittance of their salaries, PT JAYA READYMIX has
decided not to renew the said cooperation agreement as from Aug.
31, 1998.

5. The reports carried in the Post in connection with this
security guard matter are not correct and do not conform with the
legal facts and have been published without having been cross-
checked with PT JAYA READYMIX, so that the reports give the
impression that PT JAYA READYMIX has taken action in
contradiction with the prevailing laws.

6. The security guard matter is now being examined at the
Ministry of Manpower.

7. To ensure that any news reports will be objective and
balanced, PT JAYA READYMIX request that any news items concerning
the security guard matter in PT JAYA READYMIX should be
reconfirmed with PT JAYA READYMIX.
