Not caring for the environment seriously

From Warta Kota

The presidential election has consumed much of our attention, especially with regard to ambitious candidates who seek to gain victory without considering their ability and physical condition.

But I feel confident people will vote for the right candidates in accordance with their consciences. The question is whether or not we will solve critical problems such as the degrading environment or the fate of Indonesian workers overseas.

Take a look at the illegal logging issue. The punishments imposed on criminal entrepreneurs are disproportionately light compared with those imposed on illegal firewood loggers who have been taken into custody by the forest police. Our migrant workers are treated inhumanely by their employers; meanwhile, the authorities only take action when their situation becomes hot news on television.

When will the police conduct simultaneous raids all on all protected forest areas to uphold discipline and maintain order?
