Northwest to serve Jakarta
JAKARTA (JP): Northwest Airlines plans to start operating a service between Jakarta and Seattle in the United States in July, to become the only U.S. carrier serving the route.
The company said in a statement over the weekend that the proposed service, which is still subject to final government approval, will operate three times weekly -- on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The flights will be made via Osaka in Japan, and Los Angeles, Honolulu and Detroit -- all in the United States.
The Minneapolis-based Northwest, which claims to be the fourth-largest airline in the world, operates a route system that spans more than 390 destinations around the world. (rid)
