No telephone, but big bills

From Kompas

I am truly disappointed at Telkom. The reason is that our telephone has not been in working order for two months because of delayed payment.

However, the bill is steadily growing despite the fact that it has not been used. Ours is a household telephone, and has never been used for business purposes.

During the two-month blockage of telephone services to our home, during which we could not make outgoing calls, but could only receive incoming calls, the bill for August read Rp 470,000 and for September Rp 196,938. The statements even listed mentions long distance calls we never made.

After making complaints several times, we were told that the problem was not unusual. What concerns us is that the Telkom people who came to check our phone, only looked the equipment over perfunctorily. They never checked out the cables, they never went near the pole which bears the cable entering our house.

We would appreciate some real attention from Telkom.
